To the community and all animals:

I decided to get into the grooming business after years of doing dog rescue and being a volunteer at the local shelter. So many rescued cats and dogs were in dire need of demating or general grooming and most organizations cannot afford to have it done so the animals suffer. As a groomer, I volunteer my services to any rescue organization or shelter that has an animal in need of grooming.

To the pets I groom:

I am committed to maintaining a safe and sanitary grooming salon.
I feel each pet deserves my undivided attention in a calm relaxed environment. I space all my grooming appointments accordingly to allow me ample time with each pet.
I will (if it’s OK with the pet) kiss and hug and give lots of loving to every pet I groom.

 To my clients:

I am committed to giving each of my clients pet(s) a safe, high quality grooming at a fair price.
I am committed to NOT becoming a “greedy groomer”. I will not schedule to groom as many dogs as possible in the shortest amount of time to make more money.
I am committed to not using any "shortcuts" in my grooming process such as using chemical shampoos to decrease drying time or using cage dryers - which are very dangerous and are the #1 cause of pet deaths in grooming salons.
I use only all natural shampoos and conditioners and I completely hand dry each pet. If a pet is left damp it creates an environment for bacteria and yeast to grow that can cause dry irritated skin. Damp skin is also uncomfortable to the pet; imagine wearing damp clothes and being wrapped in a wool blanket! Also, during the drying process, I can see the pet’s skin and will report any cysts, tumors, sores or other skin problems to the owner.

I will not torture a pet for “cosmetic purposes” -- by this I mean - if a dog has mats or knots and it will be painful to remove them I will clip them out - even if it means the pet’s coat won't look as attractive as it could. Untangling mats and knots is a very painful process for the pet and I WILL NOT put any animal through that torment. Hair will grow back and I will gladly show each client ways to maintain or prevent knotting; this way your pet will look great and feel great too. I firmly believe this is especially important with puppies; it only takes one bad grooming experience for a puppy to be traumatized and then he/she could become terrified to go to the groomers and may even develop inappropriate behaviors (such as biting) and/or get stressed to the point they have seizures.
During the years that I did dog rescue I developed a knack for training and handling dogs that have been traumatized or that are un-socialized and I have had good luck with grooming them. It is my belief that there are no bad dogs. I will attempt to groom any pet regardless of disposition but, if at anytime I feel the pet is stressed to the point it may harm itself - I will not continue at that time but will gladly work with rehabilitating the pet to get to the point he/she can be groomed.
Most people worry about me being harmed by their pet, but to date, I have only been bitten once by a dog and two times by feral cats. I really didn't like being bit - so I have learned to read animal’s body language and other techniques to avoid it!
